Design Village

Design Village is an annual competition hosted by Cal Poly’s Architecture program and is one of the most anticipated events of the year for The College of Architecture & Environmental Design (CAED). True to Cal Poly’s “Learn-By-Doing” experience, competitors design and build “shelters” that they inhabit for the entirety of the weekend.

As the design and marketing director, I was responsible for developing Design Village’s logo, brand identity, and all supporting graphic assets. I also directed all photography for the event, assisting in capturing the competition and post-editing.

2023

PROCESS
Our goal was to develop a flexible yet resilient identity that could adapt to the event theme as it changes annually. The core identity system we developed is clean and structured to reflect the architectural foundation of the competition. Supporting graphics took on a more personable and natural feel to promote this year’s theme, ‘Biophilia.’
